Jack D. Davis was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois. He spent his early childhood in
the southwest suburbs of Chicago. He and his family moved to Central Illinois in his
early teens. He was raised on a farm outside of Springfield where he developed a
passion for hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Mr. Davis obtained his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Criminology from the University
of Central Florida. He was honored as a regular member of the Dean’s list for academic
excellence at that institution. Following graduation, he was offered employment positions
with Federal and State law enforcement agencies. He opted for law school and enrolled at
Northern Illinois University. Mr. Davis received honors at NIU College of Law, including
an academic scholarship, trial advocacy team awards and placement in the top ranks of his
class. He was active in mock trial competitions and traveling trial contests. Mr. Davis
graduated from NIU College of Law with cum laude honors.
Mr. Davis began his practice with The Law Offices of Frederic W. Nessler, Ltd. in
Springfield, Illinois. While affiliated with that firm, Mr. Davis focused his practice
on the representation of plaintiffs and victims of injury resulting from negligence.
Mr. Davis has handled some of the most complex cases including medical malpractice,
wrongful death, toxic tort, asbestos exposure, benzene exposure and groundwater
contamination. He has tried several of these cases to verdict and has obtained several
million and multi-million dollar results for his clients. His dedication to
representing injured workers and members of organized labor has extended his practice
to the Courts of Appeals where he has successfully argued on behalf of persons severely
injured and unable to earn a living.
Mr. Davis is a frequent lecturer at various seminars and symposiums. He has lectured
for the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education on subjects including trial
technique, depositions and civil practice. He was a speaker at the Harris Martin
Benzene Conference in Miami in November 2006. He is a member of the Illinois State
Bar Association, the American Inns of Court (Lincoln-Douglas) and the Illinois Trial
Lawyers Association. He is on the Medical Negligence Committee of ITLA and a member
of the Board of Advocates of that organization. He is admitted to the state courts
of Illinois and the Illinois Central and Southern Federal District Courts and 7th
Circuit Federal Court of Appeals. Mr. Davis is an avid supporter and active member
of Ducks Unlimited. He has been active as a coach in the Special Olympics, coaching
softball and basketball.
Jack Davis resides in Springfield with his wife and children. He concentrates his
practice in the areas of products liability, workers’ compensation, medical
malpractice, wrongful death, environmental contamination, exposure to chemicals
and general civil practice and tort law.
